Khatt Springs, Ras Al Khaimah – Things to Know Before Visit

Khatt Springs are natural hot springs located at the bottom of the Hajar Mountains in Ras Al Khaimah. Khatt springs water can help with a number of health problems, such as skin conditions, rheumatic diseases, and muscle problems. The most responsible reason for this healing property is synergistic effect. In the synergistic effect, the high temperature of the water and it’s mineral work together. The heat relaxes the body and opens up the pores for better absorption of beneficial minerals like sulfur & magnesium.

Some key factors which should be considered before visiting Khatt Springs:

Timings: 7:00 am to 9:00 pm daily (Gulf Standard Time).

Entry Fee: AED 25 to AED 52

Best time frame to visit: Winter time when the temperature ranges between 20°C to 28°C (November to April)

Summer Heat: It’s not that it can’t be visited during hot summer months (June to September). The high outdoor temperatures just makes soaking in 40°C water less appealing and uncomfortable.

GPS: These are mainly located in rural areas so a GPS can be very useful to locate the hot springs.

Swimwear: Individual swimsuits

Cash: Carry cash to avoid any inconvenience.

Sun Protection: Carry sunscreen as the sunlight rays may damage your skin.

Footwear:  A footwear which won’t slip on wet surfaces.

 

To reach Khatt Springs

One can drive his/her private vehicle for about 30 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah City to cover a distance of 27kms to reach Khatt Springs. Taxis are also available at Ras Al Khaimah which can take you to your desired destination i.e. Khatt Springs.
